Reminder to our members: this competition closes next Monday, 2nd October, and will open for member voting next day.  There's only a few days left to get your entries in.

Our current photo competition is City Slickers, a theme suggested by Monica Awasthy, Program Manager of Birds In Backyards.  For this competition, we ask our members to submit images of birds sharing our spaces – things such as the behaviour of a typical “urban” bird, maybe the beauty of a bird we might detest or ignore in a city, or people interacting with birds, or even a bird using a non-natural space. We’re not being strict on the “city” definition; we’ll consider anywhere there are buildings (small towns, even a group of farm buildings) to meet the criterion – but you don’t have to include structures in your images.

This competition is open to members for submission of entries until Monday 2nd October 2017.  Images for this competition must have been taken within the last 2 years.  Images submitted to previous competitions, or to the New Images gallery, may be submitted to this competition; if you choose to do this, you must resubmit the image to the competition gallery; images moved from another existing gallery will not be accepted.  See the Photo Gallery - Competitions section for full details of our competitions, and quick access to the current competition galleries.
