A number of you have emailed to suggest that the CC would be fit from a category revision to better accommodate for photographers who have progressed from the Entry Level category. These photographer however, feel somewhat demoralised when competing against some of our more advanced photographers and those who operate at a professional level.
Therefore, I have suggested to the Committee that we consider three categories to encourage a greater and more rewarding membership engagement in the CC.

These would be Entry, Intermediate and Advanced.

The advice that I currently offer to our Members as CC Co-ordinator is that if you are winning or achieving a place in the final 5 images in 2-3 competitions is is time to move from the Entry level to the next level, which would be Intermediate. The same should apply to the Intermediate level although this may well be over a longer period. It really is up to you to move to Advanced but I think we would encourage you to do so if you are consistently achieving the winning image in the Intermediate category. I wouldn't discourage anyone who wants to try their hand at the Advanced level but I would say that this level is really designed for our most experienced and accomplished photographers and those who over time develop a similar level of photographic skills.

Following the next Committee meeting we will decide if this should be implemented on a trial basis, which would also give you time to assess the pros and cons of such a move. The decision will also be influenced by the the thoughts os a new CC Co-ordinator who will take over from me as from the next competition. I envisage that it may also take time to establish a a consistent base of photographers consistently competing in the Advanced category to establish a Membership Vote and Mystery Reviewer evaluation.
