I wonder if someone here has seen this type of variation before.These young are from the same adult pair but two years apart.Last years fledglings were both black this year there are two and in 2015 there were three.It is interesting the pattern in their feathers.I could not get an eye shot in 2015 but the bird was more brown in colour than this year. This years appears to have the typical immature blue eye.I apologise for the photo quality as both were shot in low light from a distance and have been cropped. I had to shoot from behind the truck because as son as the adult birds see the lense they're gone.Hope you find my first post here interesting.
