Absolutely agree! Policy documents, particularly when they're originating in different places, are difficult to get right. It's something that we're acutely aware of, and are working to get as comprehensive as possible.

Hi Guys,

I follow my own rule and it's a very simple one ; If I have to stop and think"Is this OK", then it ain't worth it and I ain't doin' it!

I must add that this only applies to photography because I have been known to make quite a few stupid decisions. . .

But then again, with all silliness aside, I'm a member of both organizations and one side's rules supersedes the others at a certain point in a paragraph, surely it can be cleaned up a bit?

Bruce

EDIT: sorry Guys, it seems that I wrote this before getting to the end of the thread, my apologies for commenting without reading the full thread. Sorry Rob, you have already addressed my comment.

Absolutely well said David. I urge everyone to write their own emails to BirdLife Australia - they seem to have taken a backseat on ethics - I am sure under pressure from the 'top' bird photographers who maintain that there is nothing wrong with their practices. Time for it to lead, not follow.
