Hi Bruce,
I have found their site and seen some lovely photos by some of the members.
Are you sure you typed exactly birdlifephotographyaustralia?
Cheers,
Anna

Hi Bruce,

There's now an Instagram icon just below the "birdlife photography" heading on the Home page that will take you directly to our Instagram site.

One thing I'd like to mention is that the images that Instagram presents will appear differently if you view it on a computer, via the Instagram web interface, where all images seem to be presented in a square (600x600px) format, or via the Instagram app on a mobile phone or tablet, where the images retain their original aspect ratio. Instagram is designed for the "app" interface, and is probably better followed using a mobile device. But regardless of which way you view it, please follow us there - we're looking to build a follower network.

Thanks Guys,

I couldn't find Tim's original text and trying to type in the incorrect address. Without it, I was flying blind--BIF (Blind In Flying). . . :woohoo: :woohoo:

Cheers,
Bruce

Hi Rob
Just had a look at the great photos on the BLP Instagram site via the icon on the BLP homepage.
Were these images selected by a representative of the committee or just submitted by the individuals thru their personal accounts?
Either way, nice work.
Peter.

Tim Van Leeuwen is responsible for this site and selects and uploads images. An email was sent to all members in late May about this (see below). I have deleted Tim's mobile number from this email since this forum is publicly visible. You can contact Tim via his images on BLP (Contact photographer button) if you any ideas or comments.

"I am excited to announce that our wonderful bird photography will now be shared with a wider audience via Instagram.
I have been asked to take on the challenge as the Birdlife Photography Social Media Manager and I am working with Graham and his team to finalise a social media plan that will:

Align with Birdlife Photography and Birdlife Australia’s business and membership objectives. This includes attracting a younger cohort of bird photograhers as well as a substantial increase to our overall membership base.

Consider the potential use of other social media apps such as facebook and twitter.

Recognise our current member’s wonderful bird photography.

Share and promote our high-quality bird photographs with a wider audience.

For those who are currently Instagram members please search for birdlifephotographyaustralia and follow us on a regular basis. Be aware that there are a number of other active birdlifephotography accounts and so it is important to include ‘australia’. Our exposure to promote BLP depends on you and your followers so please come on board.
I am an active user of social media but not an expert, and I would encourage feedback from members on our progress and any ideas you have that may make the experience better for all. Feedback through the BirdLife Photography email address will enable the BLP committee to view your suggestions. For those of you who prefer direct contact, my mobile details are attached below.
