As 2017 approaches, its time to consider competition themes for next year. Please use this forum to put forward themes you would like to see - or not see. If I dont get any suggestions we may just end up with themes like ...: Birds of the Simpson Desert, Megapodes, Extinct birds and Birds from Above. :)

Hi Georgina,
Some thoughts on themes;
- Multiple birds i.e. more than one in the image,
- Birdlife WA recently had a comp for black & white birds ( only 5% not black or white),
-Birds doing something - this year there is a birds in flight theme but good to have something other than sitting on a perch.
Regards
Woody

Hi Georgina
Some suggestions:
1. Birds with less than, for example, ten images in the database. Or it might be fewer than ten female images in the database.
2. Birds and people
3. Birds in backyards
4. Birds feeding
5. Birds bathing
6. The most abundant birds where you live.
regards
Con

Is it a concern that forcing the use of flash in a comp would cut out quite a few photographers from the comp?

And if so, does it matter if a comp theme is structured so that it automatically excludes some photographers?
