I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this question [Administrator's Note: it wasn't; it has been moved to the correct category.], however, I would be pleased if someone is able to identify the bird in the attached photo which I photographed on Norfolk Island as I have been unable to find it in Birdlife Australia's website.

Hello Mal,
You need to look at Godwits with upturned bills. The two possibilities are juvenile Bar-tailed Godwit (most likely), and Hudsonian Godwit. To be sure we really need some more views, especially in flight ventral.

Hello Ian,
Thank you for your assistance with identifying this bird and would agree the Bar-tailed Godwit you mention is most likely the correct one. Unfortunately I don't have a bird in flight as this particular bird was one of 20 - 30 Godwits all feeding in a very wet paddock adjacent to the beach.
