CommentMost photographs of the Tasmania’s endangered endemic Forty-spotted Pardalote depict a beautiful little sedate bird quietly perched on a white gum branch. However this image, captured early January during a half-day tour of Dr Tonia Cochran’s 500 hectare Private Conservation Reserve Inala on Bruny Island, shows another side of their persona. Whilst Tonia often observes this aggressive type of behaviour, it’s very rare to have the opportunity to photograph it and especially in close quarters.
