CommentThe Pizzey and Knight field guide list the Spotted Nightjar as "Possible winter migrant within Australia". In the Townsville region they are generally only seen for a couple a months during the dry season. This image was taken at night on track on a property at Woodstock about 40km from Townsville. I was lying the ground to take this photo.
