CommentFreckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) male, a very alert species not commonly seen in areas I frequent, this was the only reasonably close individual in sufficient light to photograph, most on the day were resting up in the fringing vegetation in very dark shade. I considered myself fortunate to not only see this species, but to also photograph...I thought it worth.
