Comment:The old Cheatham saltworks between the Laverton Creek at Altona and Pt Cook have become an extensive wetland, tangled and unkempt. I love it because you're within sight of the city but essentially in a wilderness that's hardly visited by humans. Birdlife is diverse and in that space of big skies and open waters i've had numerous moments of intimacy with its residents. This Great Egret was blissfully unaware of the ghostly towers in the distance. No fancy processing, just a result of exposing tor the foreground.
Equipment:Canon EOS500D, Canon EF70-300 zoom@207mm, 1/500@f/7.1, ISO 800, handheld.
Location:Cheatham wetlands, Pt Cook (near the Immigration Tower) (Victoria)
Keywords:adult
