White-winged Fairy-wren

White-winged Fairy-wren
CommentIt was a bitterly cold and overcast day on the shoreline of Lake Tyrell with next to nothing happening – when out of the blue, this gorgeous adult male White-winged Wren (sub species leucomotis) in full breeding plumage perched in front of me. I entered this photo as I remember how the bird’s arrival made my day, displaying such beautiful deep blues while venturing out on such a cold day in such a harsh environment.
