CommentThanks for all the valuable feedback on the earlier versions of this subject. I went back to the shooting sequence and thought that this shot from a couple of frames earlier in the fly-past incorporated many of the suggestions while retaining the good points. I have plenty of wide shots showing the full bird but what I am really after is something a bit different, and perhaps a bit more risky, achieved by tighter cropping. If it is not too much to ask, would you please let me know how you feel about this version.

Manual, spot metering, AI Servo with 8-pt zone AF, f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 400.
Processed using DPP4 and PSE14 with Neat Image plug-in.
