Masked Lapwing

Masked Lapwing
CommentWe had been camping at Merry Beach for a week and observed this poor Masked Lapwing swooping on people as they got too close to the nest. We felt just as annoyed as the Lapwing because it was the same people every day walking their dogs. It really wouldn't have been difficult for these people to take an alternative, and less threatening, route. We were careful to stay far enough away so that the Lapwing didn't feel threatened.
