Red-necked Stint
CommentI wanted all of my images for this competition to come from one of my favourite birding sites, Merries Reef. Red-necked Stint are the smallest and most abundant waders on the site. This image was taken on a windy afternoon which forced the birds to line up and feed into the wind. There was a low dense layer of cloud, with the sun poking through just before it disappeared below the horizon.
