This image was chosen (from several images of the same group at the same time) for post processing because the depth of field covered the three birds and, in this image, the three birds were equidistant and quite nicely lined up for the rule of thirds on the horizontal plane. The post processing difficulty here was to show in a still how the mist was rising from the water. In the end the only post processing, apart from resizing in PSE 13 has been spot removal.
The sun has only just risen here and is yet to add much colour to the water or the birds. The choice not to darken the small blown patches on the breasts of the birds is deliberate because the highlights work well pictorially.
