CommentHearing of a Hudsonian Godwit at Reef Island Western Port Bay we decided to pay a visit. The Hudsonian Godwit normally migrates from North America to South America each year so this bird is WAY off course. This small flock of Godwit, mainly Bar-tailed, arrive on this small patch at Reef Island each high tide. Note the Hudsonian Godwit in the centre, black markings underwing, marking near the eye, and the white spot on the tail are the main marking differences to the Bar-tailed Godwit.
