The Tom Oliver Award is a biannual award and made possible by the kind bequest of Di Oliver. The current TOA has closed and the entries reviewed. There is a clear winner who will be announced at the AGM awards presentations in Geelong.

The role of the coordinator is one that arises once every 12-18 months and the highest priority is to email the BLP membership, BirdLife membership and affiliated organisations, the major camera clubs and similar organisations to announce the details of the award. Timely reminders are then emailed during the period the award remains open. Entries will be received by the co-ordinator, assessed that they meet the requirements of the rules and regulations and those that are eligible for review, presented the to the BLP committee. The BLP committee will work with the co-ordinator to identify at least one external reviewer with a photography/educator background. As with all these new non-elected roles the BLP committee will ensure that the co-ordinator receives training and support.

The next commitment for the Tom Oliver Award co-ordinator will arise approximately 9 months prior to the next DPITB event; the date in 2019 is yet to be decided.

Expression of interests welcome – please contact any member of the committee to discuss this role in more detail.

Kind regards

Graham
