Hi Guys,
I'm hoping that someone can help me i.d. this Honeyeater?
I believe that it is juvenile and have a sneaking suspicion that it might be a juvenile Yellow-tufted Honeyeater although the yellow feathers look more like the feathers of a Yellow-plumed Honeyeater rather than the 'Tufted' variety?
It's not a big bird and is smaller in size than the 'tufted' bird's size.
These images were taken at Kamarooka north of Bendigo.
Thanks for your help Guys/Gals,
Bruce

Looks to me like a Yellow-plumed HE. The light underside, heavily streaked with dark grey, seem pretty diagnostic in conjunction with the yellow plumes. Your comment on size relative to Yellow-tufted fits with this also. Adult, rather than juvenile, which is much plainer.

Yeah,thanks Rob,
From the Australian Bird Guide it looks to be, as you say, adult Yellow-plumbed and in non-breeding plumage.
My concern was the location and I thought that Bendigo was too far south and east for these birds?
Thanks again,
Bruce

I've seen them at Kamarooka when I've been there with the BirdLife Melbourne Photography group.

Thanks Rob,

The brown chest markings made me think juvenile and the location didn't really inspire thoughts of Yellow-plumed ??
Thanks for your assistance, Yellow-plumed Honeyeater in Adult plumage it is. . .

Bruce
