Yesterday I spotted a very high flying bird in Braeside. I was able to take a few shots and at first I thought that it was an adult Nankeen Night Heron but when I looked at it on my monitor I was surprised by the white wings and orange breast feathers. Could this be a Javan Pond Heron? It's hard to believe it. Please help!

I realise this could be just a lone Cattle Egret after all ;-)

I think that you may have answered your own question in your second posting. . .

Just a wild guess because I haven't seen any Javan Pond Herons lately, I think that they have all moved on???
