I love looking at the images that are used for the headers. Some truly spectacular photographs. Maybe I am doing something wrong but would it be possible to have arrows to click back and forth on these and also to click on the image to take us directly to it so we can give praise on the quality.

Each time you go to a page which has the "slides" panel, that is pre-loaded with a random selection of 5 images from the Slides gallery, which then change every 10 seconds. You can view all five images as follows: place the cursor on the image, then use the forward/back arrows on the keyboard to cycle through the current five images.

There is no commenting facility for images in the Slides gallery. The only gallery for which members can enter comments is the Critique gallery.

You can already - if the photographer has allowed contact - email the photographer directly about an image, by opening the image from the Photo Gallery | Select Gallery to View | Slides gallery and using the "Contact Photographer" button. This Slides gallery page has the standard image search facility, so it's easy to find an image of a particular species from a particular photographer. At present, there are almost 450 images in that gallery. Alternatively, you can just note the image ID number (which appears when you hover the cursor over a header image) and go to that image via the "Go to Image ID Number" on the Photo Gallery | All Photos page, or just enter that number in the Search box on the Home page. I'll look at adding a link to these images in the header panel to open them in the normal View Image page, but this is a low priority change, as there's already several ways to do what you want.

Thanks Rob for the response.

Maybe my system but I don't see the arrows in the header but I didn't realise that the photo ID comes up when you hover over the image. I can work with that. Agree it should be a low priority task. I know you are working on heaps of other things on the site.

Cheers, Rod.

Clarification: there are no arrows in/over the header image; you just use the normal forward/back keys on your keyboard.
