The Category drop-down box will be present if you click the New Topic tab in the Forum menu; if you are viewing a particular category of the Forum and you use the New Topic button in the Category Header section, the drop-down box will not be present, and your new post topic will automatically appear in the category that you are viewing.

A while ago, I thought it would be interesting to see what the most popular species are for posting on our website and I put up a forum post then. Here's an update as of today. Anyone can check this. Go to Resources: Taxonomy and click the down arrow next to the 'Images' column heading (sorting can be done on the other columns in a similar way also). Here's the 10 top species photos posted in all galleries:

1. Superb Fairy-wren: 299 photos
2. Australian Pelican: 238 photos
3. Pacific Black Duck: 226 photos
4. Osprey; White-faced Heron: both with 192 photos
5. New Holland Honeyeater: 190 photos
6. Great Egret: 187 photos
7. Rainbow Bee-eater: 182 photos
8. Greater Crested Tern: 181 photos
9. Galah; Black Swan: both with 179 photos
10: Welcome Swallow: 177 photos
