Hi, I've been a member of Birdlife for over a decade in various states, but only recently felt my photography was improved enough to submit anything. Still on a massive learning curve not only about photography but birds in general. I work contract, so will pick birding locations so I can satisfy the funding requirements as well as the hobby. I'm based in Townsville, but currently doing a stint back in WA with three locations in mind. I've just escaped Perths lockdown after quarantine, so after three weeks I needed a bird fix and managed to get one yesterday and have a lot of birding sites earmarked before I start back at work next week, some 300km from Perth. If there's anyone in Perth environs that's keen to get out and about birding, Id be happy to catch up (masks on of course, and metro area only) I have wheels. Can the moderators please advise if sharing contact details are allowed on here?

Hi Melissa, and welcome to BirdLife Photography. I see that you've been a BLP member for almost 18 months, but have only just become an active member by posting to this Forum and submitting photos to our current competition.

This Forum is not moderated, so you're free to post contact details if you choose to do so. Posting to the Forum is limited to members, but Forum posts can be read by anyone visiting the site, so it's your choice as to what information you're willing to make publicly available. You can put contact information into your Forum Profile; that's visible only to other members. The only things moderated on this site are image submissions - see the About Us - Our Galleries page for details.

And sorry, I'm nowhere near Perth; Melbourne is my home town. Hope you hear from some Perth birders. From my experience, you're quite likely to find some bird photographers around Herdsman Lake.

Thanks Keith. I've been to John Oldham Park - disappointed with how much it has deteriorated and several bridges closed. Between showers and chores Ive been to Lake Monger, Lake Booragoon and Bibra Lake. Only really have one morning or afternoon left (Thursday) and will probably head off to Herdsman Lake unless someone knows where there are some good bird photo opps without needing a G2G Pass. I've texted you Keith.
