My aim is to photograph all species of Australian birds ...

About Twitchers Corner & Who I am.

right_image_logoMy name is Keith Hindley and I retired from work a few years ago and decided I needed something to keep me occupied and energised.

Twitchers Corner is that something, my aim is to try and photograph all species of Australian birds .. an approximate total of around 780 which I am uploading to this website and you can view for free under Twitchers Gallery.

I have always been interested in Photography from childhood and also as a young boy I used to enjoy bird watching, so I decided to put the two together and splashed out on a new camera.

What I Do

The Hip operations all went well and both right and left hips are healing slowly. As a little bit of a rest and recuperation I will be flying up north on the 15th August. First traveling to Townsville in Queensland for a 11 night stay then I hire a 4×4 to drive to Palm Cove north of Cairns, one of my favorite places.

From Palm cove I can travel up the Table Lands and get a wide variety of birds but as I will be restricted in walking I wont be covering the distances I used to. It’s all about picking the right places and seeing what we can find.

I will be in Palm Cove for 16 Nights and returning home on the 11TH September 2017. Hopefully with some more birds to add to my web-site for you to enjoy.

In May 2019 I will be doing a little adventure by driving up north into the Northern Territory to a very remote out station called Old Andado. If you go to Google Earth and type in IGGIES CAMP you will see how remote it really is. On this trip I traveled 5,500 Kilometre in around 2 weeks. That’s approximately 5 times the length of England

It’s now 2019 May and I will be heading first to Winton and the Diamantena National Park and in July & August I will be in Dawnin The Northam Territory and then across to Palm Cove north of Cairns in far Noth Queensland.

Get your self a bird Identification book and a camera and head bush. You will see the wonders of what ever part of the world you live in. But look not always for the beauty but also the rawness of the country. I enjoy the red centre of Australia and to see the life that sevives in one of the most arid parts of the world. I have always wanted to travel the outback with a local Aborigine and just live of the land. If you know what to look for the outback is like a supermarket and you have to admire the original owners of Australia who have survived for 50 or 60 thousand years in one of the most aride places on earth. I admire them.

Just live off the land, and the land will repect you and look after you as long as you respect the land.

I wish you all good health and peace to your part of the world.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Regards and best wishes
