CommentThe soft ambient light combined with the close proximity and the bold stance of this sparrow made for perfect conditions to take his photo. I am pleased with the accuracy of the colour portrayal (including the magenta tinting on his beak) and the level of detail in his plumage. I initially cropped this photo as a 3:4 ratio portrait image but later decided I preferred the scrolled patterns of the bark peeling off from the small branch that the landscape crop allows.
