CommentWe were driving along a local road looking for a site we had visited several years ago when we heard cockatoos calling and realized that they were Glossy Blacks. We managed to find them and they allowed us to view them for 20 minutes until we left them still in the same tree. For such a large bird they have great dexterity in rotating the oak cone with their toes to extract the tiny seeds.
