CommentOur Black Swan pair has recently returned to Coburg Lake after disappearing for a couple of months. The photo captures a moment of morning preening as one of the pair attends to some of its pure white primary feathers, not always so visible in their more familiar cruising mode. The Swan’s bright red beak makes for an arresting contrast with the surrounding black and white plumage.
