CommentLake Cowal is an ephemeral lake near West Wyalong, NSW, and by area the largest lake in NSW. It is primarly fed by Bland Creek and flood overflow from the Lachlan River. After several dry years spring rains in 2020 have partially filled the lake, bringing a profusion of birdlife. An area of the lake can be accessed by the public through a reserve but most is private land (including a gold mine on the western edge).
