CommentBirds on the water offer the opportunity to maximize use of reflections to add interest to an image. In this case there are two sets of reflections. The first is of the bird itself, with the strong visual feature of the double curved neck. This tends to lead the eye back to the bird's face.
The other reflection is of Autumnal colours. This is is the time of the year to look for Autumn trees reflected in water and any birds that might swim into the frame.
This bird was one of a pair that seemed to be defending a territory. They chased away two other swans.
