It was engaged in prolonged and intense splashing and preening. It seemed oblivious to my presence as I sat quietly on the riverbank photographing its behaviour. Black Swans are endemic to Australia and frequent shallow lake,s estuaries, and rivers where there is plenty of aquatic vegetation for food and nesting.
