CommentTaken on our Ovens and Murray Birdlife outing to the Marlo district last November. Some experienced members of our group estimated that there were well over five hundred of these Woodswallows on an absolute feeding frenzy. Over an area the size of several football ovals heavily covered with flowering grasstrees, the huge flock systematically made its way from one end to the other. Unfortunately, I did not have a wide angle lens with me to capture the sheer magnitude of this spectacle. This area has also been severely burnt by the recent bushfires.
