CommentThe only bird that looks like a female Plains Wanderer is another female Plains Wanderer. Males might be mistaken for Stubble and Brown Quail, particularly when scurrying along. But note in particular the upright carriage when a Plains Wanderer stands erect, which is diagnostic. They do not like to flush.
