CommentThis image shows a typical feeding behaviour. The beak is run along the sides and undersides of submerged logs, branches, twigs or bullrush stems to find prey. In this case, the prey item most often observed were water snails. The dull light prevented capturing the iridescent colours which can sometimes be observed on this specie's wings.
