CommentIn Western Australia the Tawny-crowned Honeyeater is found predominantly in the south-west, occurring mainly in coastal heathlands. Records of this bird, however extend inland as well as northwards, as long as the habitat is suitable. It is somewhat difficult to get a good view of, as is does not like to come out in the open, preferring to forage in amongst the shrub, often checking out flowers from the ground. Like other honeyeaters, it will prey on insects also. This is a juvenile bird.
