CommentNature abhors a coronavirus vacuum. No-one told these Australian Wood Ducks that swimming pools were off limits due to the virus. The Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool has now become "home" for a group of these beautiful ducks, who are no doubt appreciating the quiet and peacefulness of this closed pool, especially since their usual habitat, the Coburg Lake nearby has been besieged by large flocks of White Ibis and Silver Gulls. A male Wood Duck with its dark brown head is foregrounded while a female with its lighter brown and two pale stripes above and below the eye may be seen further back. The photo was taken from some distance away due to the wire fence of the closed pool.
