CommentI noticed this bird concealed under a low bush on the bank of a local river. As I attempted to find an angle for a photograph it flew off and perched a few meters away with only the far bank of the river as a backdrop. It was a dull and overcast day and so I chose a fairly slow shutter speed for a hand held shot.
EquipmentCanon 1DX Mk.II Canon 400 mm. f.4 DO IS USM lens with 1.4X extender. 1/250 sec. f.8.
