CommentThis species is uncommon in my area so when I found a remnant pool that was regularly used by one of these birds I spent a number of mornings there taking photos. Unfortunately this pool didn't get much sunlight till late due to the trees and vegetation on the river bank so there was often a considerable amount of positive exposure compensation required and therefore a slower shutter speed than I would have liked.
