CommentThis image meets the entry criteria for the competition as there are clearly defined and identifiable reflections of the subjects - in fact you could almost turn this image upside down, and the viewer wouldn't be any the wiser. This photograph brings back fond memories of the day that I took it. As you can see the lake surface was like glass, the early morning light was fantastic, and best of all, I was alone on the lake that was literally teaming with birdlife. I had been engrossed in my viewfinder, focusing on another species of wader. I did not see this flock of Sharp-tailed Sandpipers land, but when I next took my eye away from the viewfinder, I got this very pleasant surprise. A tightly grouped flock of sandpipers in a relaxed feeding mood, literally only a few metres away from me.
