CommentA local lake has attracted hundreds of stints this summer, flocking on the muddy shores as the water recedes. It's thick black mud, but the shorebirds love it. This Red-necked Stint comes in to join its mates, along with Red Knots, Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, Red-capped and Hooded Plovers, Pied Stilts, Red-necked Avocets, Great Egrets, Spoonbills, Pelicans, Shelducks, Grey Teals and more. It's a fantastic location for the birds but with only a small amount of water left, it's very crowded.
