CommentOne of several Freckled Duck images I shot on an otherwise somewhat disappointing day of bird photography. A pretty straightforward portrait but the light reflections on the ripples are fairly interesting. This bird was one of several which were upending, and this photo was taken the instant it's head emerged - hence the film of water on the head and body, the interesting ripple pattern, and the dribble from the beak Note the colour indicates either non breeding male, or female.
EquipmentCanon 80d; Canon EF 100-400 L Mk II zoom. ISO800, 1/1000s, f5.6, 400mm, Av mode with +1/3 EV.
