CommentAs per your suggestions i have applied Topaz de Noise unfortunately I cannot adjust the crop. My programs somehow have it blocked. Thus a slight improvement. Unsure if it is acceptable i await your decision

Further to our initial correspondence, the image is rather flat and soft, which is a result of the cold, wet and dark conditions, the tight cropping, and to a lesser extent the ISO vs. shutter speed setting. The R7 sensor is very different to the R3 and the R5 sensor, and through personal experience(s) I have come to realise that ISO 1000 is the absolute maximum acceptable setting if attempting to take a photo of a bird with fine feather detail. In fact, my glass does not allow me to go beyond ISO 800, however, my wife has a RF100-500 lens on her R7, and she can manage acceptable results at ISO 1000. I would suggest that reducing your ISO down to 800 or 640 would have left less noise to clean up, and to compensate for the lack of light, reducing your shutter speed right down to 1/160 or 1/250 would have worked well on the assumption that your lens has has good IS capabilities.
Overall, the isolation of the bird perched on the post is appealing, as it the blurred background, which ensures that the bird remains the focal point of the image. I often find myself whistling in these circumstances, with the hope of having the bird turn its head and look straight down the barrel of the lens, whilst also looking over its shoulder. You have also framed the bird (and post) well, leaving space in the area which the bird is gazing into.

Rob Solic2024-05-31 07:42:32I should add that my 'critique' is based on my experience(s), and there would surely be others that would disagree with my views on the R7 and ISO performance. There are many conditional factors that also play a large part in driving ISO settings.
