| Comment | This image required many of hours of my time in the field simply observing the Rufous Scrub-bird (annual acoustic based monitoring surveys). I was fortunate after many trips (often not even viewing the bird) I was able to produce an image that is relatively unobscured, but gives a sense of their dense understory habitat. Unfortunately many people disturb these wonderful birds, but If you have patience are calm and do not enter their domain they will often come to investigate a person on the walking path. It is hard to completely determine, but the slight yellowish gape and less distinct malar stripe, with hints of black patches on belly sides may indicate a immature male or close to adult. Processed with Adobe Lightroom, level adjustments and colour - removal of a distracting leaf in background- DxO Pureraw for Noise Reduction. | ||||||||||||||||||
