| Comment | This photo seemed to epitomise aggression for me. We have a ‘goodie’ in white and a ‘baddie’ in black. The Australian Raven is obviously objecting to the presence of the Black shouldered kite. The red eyes and gaping throat intensify the mood of danger and aggression as well as providing a focus of colour in an otherwise nearly monochrome image. The posture of the black bird gives a sense of menacing movement towards the kite and although the black bird’s head is not included, the fixed stare of the kite leaves the viewer in not doubt this is a real threat approaching. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
