| Comment | I submit this image as one of my best for the year. The reason I have selected it is that it was a real challenge to capture due to the absence of light, which as you know. is a key component in photography. I had just enjoyed a lovely sunset and had turned my camera off when I noticed some movement at the edge of the Balonne River. A solitary Sulphur Crested Cockatoo had just finished it's final drink for the day and was about to head up to roost in the magnificent gums that lined the river. I quickly grabbed my camera and without much time to fiddle with settings I starting shooting. I have always loved this typically Australian image showing a solitary bird in a scene that has played out for millenia. | ||||||||||||||||||
