| Comment | At dawn, I watched Royal Spoonbills sweep their bills rhythmically from side to side through the water. The sun rose directly ahead of me, casting the birds into sharp relief in the foreground. Backlit by the growing light, their white feathers seemed almost mystical as they carried out their quiet morning ritual on the dark surface of the water. Now and then, one would toss its head back, swallow a fish, and return to its steady motion. I’m especially drawn to the way the fish’s delicate structure was illuminated, the sunlight streaming through and revealing its fine details. | ||||||||||||||||||
