| Comment | Before visiting O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat last year, I was hoping I might get a glimpse of the stunning Regent Bowerbirds. I got much more than that! With this image, I went for a low-key look, something I carefully planned, to highlight the stunning hood they are famous for. I loved the bird's slightly awkward posture, and the symmetry of the downturned bill. I was careful to use a frame where the hood and golden eyes didn't intersect. To be clear, this bird was a fed wild bird. Something they have been doing at O'Reilly's for decades with permits. | ||||||||||||||||||
