| Comment | A Swamp Harrier quartering low over Lake Borrie, Werribee. From its underwing pattern, this is most likely a juvenile, with pale undersides to the bases of its primaries. They are partially migratory, with many in the southeast migrating north over winter. In the case of Werribee, there is a two-way process as summer ends, with residents and offspring moving north in February and March but numbers increasing again with the influx and passage of migrant harriers from Tasmania during March and April (https://hanzab.birdlife.org.au/species/swamp-harrier/). | ||||||||||||||||||
