| Comment | This shot has 17 Silver Gulls in it and the top half of the image has only gulls aside from a few people in the centre right creeping over the horizon. The image for me demonstrates a clear duality between the gulls in the air and all of these humans on the ground. I entered this particular image because of the context of the competition theme and the everyday relationship we have with Silver Gulls. That day looking around the entire crowd seemed oblivious to all of these birds flying around above and I guess that would suggest that Silver Gulls have become embedded in the consciousness of Australians where they are an accepted and often maligned part of everyday life. I would also add that my decision to enter a shot that was taken with a phone was also a first. | ||||||||||||||||||
