| Comment | It has been some years since my last encounter with a Rose Robin and I found their colours difficult to process successfully when in direct sunlight as the blend of both grey and pink make an unusual mixture and I find the grey getting washed out easily and the pink over saturated. With this image I made modest adjustments to highlights and shadows and turned down the blacks a touch to give the grey more contrast while also turning down the vibrance on the pink. After sharpening and noise reduction the feather detail is pretty striking and aside from the distracting twig to the left of the bird I think the image has a lot going for it. | ||||||||||||||||||
