CommentI was anchored next to Ulgundahi Island and this Peregrine showed up after a severe thunderstorm. It was still raining on and off and very dark already after 5pm, so I put a raincoat on and one on the gear and put it on my large tripod with gimbal and took it up to the flybridge. I was only really able to lock onto the target while it was still in the bright overcast sky and once the bird took off and dipped below the tree-line gaining speed with every wingbeat made auto focus impossible, so I just concentrated on the bird taking off. Processed using DXO Pure Raw and Photoshop making adjustments to exposure, highlights and shadows. I've cloned out distracting branches on the bottom left and cropped both centre lines going through the eyes and the beak.
